Waterdraw & Calibration Services
Reference Engineering is the Industry Leader in Pipe Prover Calibration & Waterdraw Services.
We provide calibration services for all makes, models, sizes, and styles of meter provers and volumetric provers.
Reference Engineering provides on-site waterdraw calibration and measurement consulting services throughout North America. Our head office is based out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada with our US resources currently staged out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Our Calibration Services include
- Volumetric Calibration of all sizes of: bi-directional and uni-directional pipe provers, and piston style small volume provers (captive displacement), volumetric provers and measuring tanks, and a variety of meter types.
- Gravimetric Calibration of: piston style small volume provers (captive displacement), volume provers and measuring tanks, and a variety of meter types.
- Our equipment is sized and assigned to accommodate timely calibration in sizes from the smallest of piston provers (one gallon) to the largest provers made with volumes of hundreds of barrels.
Our technicians and engineers are hands on. We are equipped to assist customers with all aspects of the calibration process:
- Maintenance planning – assist operators with calibration preparation, isolation, and inspection, in addition to other maintenance related recommendations
- Sphere/displacer conformance, sizing, and material recommendations
- Switch maintenance – replacement in kind, redesign & sizing, and function verification
- Factory Acceptance Testing – assist owners with technical expertise thru witnessing and audit duties for equipment testing at the factory
- Site Acceptance Testing – assist owners with technical expertise at the field required for determination of acceptance
- Risk Assessment – Recommendations related to measurement risk and frequency of calibration (as per API)
Calibration processes follow procedures and methods described by the American Petroleum Institute (API MPMS standards), by Measurement Canada, International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML), and/or the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST). Certificates from Reference Engineering detail the customer requested or standard methods used for each calibration.
Equipment utilized by out technicians and engineers maintain a current and valid unbroken chain of traceability to national standards held by Measurement Canada, the National Research Council and/or the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST).
